Discussion:
ctrl-alt-keys in Edit widget.

when focus is on various edit widgets (page address, chat, quick reply),
all keyboard shortcuts containing "ctrl alt" or "ctrl alt shift" (f.e.
ctrl+alt+m for "manage mail") do not work. if change modifiers to
ctrl+shift, or ctrl, or alt, problems are gone. I see no reason for such a
behavior. is this a bug?
(btw, maybe there should be opera.bugreport newsgroup?)

Maybe it's a win98 issue, i haven't tested this on win2000/xp

Many keyboards don't have a AltGr button, and in that case people need to
use Ctrl+Alt to type some special characters.

actually I have only a little knowledge about AltGr using.. On my keyboard
right alt works as ctrl+alt and can be used to type [];'\, but only when
cyrillic keymap is on. But it has no difference from left alt when english
keymap is on. And there's no difference between "alt"s at all when i'm on
Windows XP. I thought this is'nt a keyboard but keyboard driver behavior..

BTW, can be this(blocking the ctrl+alt as part of hotkey) a configurable
option, if I have no need in AltGr?
"m ctr alt" for mail a far more mnemonic than "3 ctrl shift"

No. But if you make sure no edit widget has focus (for example by pressing
F9, which focuses the document, you will rarely experience the issue.

Agreed. Blocking the Ctrl+Alt shortcuts is a very important feature for
Polish users.
To type Polish national characters we use the right Alt (which acts as
AltGr) combined with a selected latin character, i.e. to type "ą" I press
right Alt+"a".

*Unfortunately* Opera developers have forgotten about this in case of the
tiny edit field which is shown after pressing ",", "." and "/" to perform
quick inline search. One can't use some of the Polish characters there.

Did anyone file a re port on that?

Well, it was discussed several times at the Polish Opera forum, but I'm
not sure if anyone has reported this bug. Just in case I'll file the bug
report.

I really doubt that forum is monitored much by Opera staff, I'm afraid :)
So thanks for filing the report!

Some discussions end-up with a message like this: "Would anyone who speaks
English file a bug report?" And sometimes you do not know if the bug
report was filed or not...
